Barking Myself to Sleep

Today, I finished building a fence for “man’s best friend” (our dog, Chloe). In all I paid $1000, about 20 hours of work, a good strong back ache, a nice sunburn and plenty of allergies.chloe-the-sanctifier.jpg

So tonight was Chloe’s first night to sleep outside. As Lindsay & I were getting in bed she was barking. I said to Lindsay, “She’ll just have to bark herself to sleep.” But that didn’t happen. In fact, I’ve just been staring up at the ceiling all night listing to that #@*% barking dog! I talked to her… yelled at her… threatened her… and now… she’s back inside.

So, here I am at 4 o’clock in the morning on my Blog barking myself to sleep. Ok, John – Who am I to bark? I have my health (minus the allergies… grumble… grumble…), a great family, a wonderful place to live, an incredible job and a vibrant relationship with God (well, except for the past 6 hours).

Lord, thank you that the dog is my biggest problem.

  1. Sooo funny. We are the not so proud owners of one hopelessly neurotic dog so we shamefully find a small bit of pleasure in other people’s dog misfortunes or bad behavior. Somehow it makes us feel better. The fence looks great though! Nice work!

Love the new lay out of the blog!
